Do you love all the great music you can find with internet radio but wish it was a bit more of a social experience? Turntable.fm is a new kind of internet radio that seeks to make online listening more social by using interactive listening rooms. According to Turntable:
Listening to music has always been one of those experiences that’s better together, whether at a concert or hanging out with friends. But the digital music revolution so far has been defined by a solitary experience. Turntable.fm is bringing the social value of music to the the digital music experience by letting people experience and discover music together — live — online… Music is subjective, humans make connections and suggestions that just would not occur with a computer running the show. Chances are that you will hear something great that you have never heard before.
Currently you can use turntable two ways: through Facebook or with their iPhone app, but more ways are coming soon. Once you are in you can chose a room that is playing a style of music that you like and start interacting with others in the room. If there is a spot open you can take your turn being the DJ and choose songs to play for the room. Turntable also has a blog.
