Crap at My Parents’ House

Do your parents collect things?  When you go to visit them do you often find incredibly odd nicknacks, decorations, other objects that defy description?  CrapAtMyParentsHouse.com is a blog that posts the most bizarre, creepy, hilarious, and just plain unusual items found in homes of parents from all over the world.  According to Crap at My Parents’ House:

Crap at My Parents’ House is a laugh-out-loud celebration of all the weird, odd, and unfathomably tacky stuff that our moms and dads accumulate without our knowledge or consent…  The best (or would that be worst?) items submitted by folks from around the globe in a very funny—but fair—way, revealing all those dirty secrets that range from deer hoof bottle openers and plush Oscar Meyer Wienermobiles to soccer-playing Jesus ceramics and grizzly bear toilet paper holders.  Whether you’re 15 or 65 and still shaking your head at your mom and dad’s decorating choices, Crap at My Parents’ House is a reason to be thankful for parents being so unintentionally hilarious.

Crap at My Parents’ House is taking submissions so if your parents have any completely ridiculous possessions take a picture and send it in.

Leisure Dive

Have you become bored with the recent interweb trends of planking and owling?  Are ready for something new?  Would you like to see something even more ridiculous?  LeisureDive.com is a blog that celebrates leisure dives where divers are photographed striking a “leisure pose” in mid air.  According to Leisure Dive:

Here at LeisureDive.com, we’re dedicated to chilling out. Poolside, with a beverage, and in mid-air…  A leisure dive is a jump into a body of water (or at least something soft), striking a ‘leisure pose’ in mid-air.  Ideally, a photographer captures the moment when the diver has reached peak height above water, when his or her hips are parallel to the waterline.  If successful, the result is an airborne Corona commercial you can post to your preferred social networking platform, or mantle, if you’re old school…  The leisure dive speaks to a person who is extreme and yet, relaxed.  Someone who — by definition — likes to jump off things and just chill.  The irony is not lost on us.  We think it’s brilliant…  Oh, and Leisure Dives are actual dives, not superimposed images.  That would be so much less cool.

In addition to “Daily Dives” you can also browse “Top Dives” and “Nice Tries.”  Leisure Dive is taking submissions so if you think you can pull off a great leisure dive, take a picture and send it in.

That Is Priceless – Art’s Greatest Masterpieces, Made Slightly Funnier

Do you love the old master’s classic works of art, but think they’re a little out of touch with today’s society?  Wrong!  In 1811 German painter Georg Friedrich Kersting painted a self-portrait depicting his loss of productivity after acquiring a new wide-screen TV.  In 1844 French painter Gustave Courbet nicely captured Johnny Depp’s expression when he realized he had left the oven on.  And there are many more humorous examples as depicted by today’s featured website.  ThatIsPriceless.blogspot.com is a blog that posts classic paintings from art’s greatest masters, with all new hilariously descriptive titles.

Today’s Website of The Day was suggested by its creator Steve Melcher.  Thanks Steve!  We are always looking for great new websites to feature, so If you think your website (or any website you’re a fan of) is feature worthy, click the submit button (located at the top of your screen right next to the home button) and fill out the form.

Promtacular! – The sequins. The lace. The photographic evidence.

Do you remember going to prom?  Was it a wonderful experience that you’ll remember fondly forever?  Or perhaps it was an embarrassingly awkward experience that you wish you could forget?  Promtacular.com is a blog that posts awesome, bizarre, hilarious, and embarrassing photos from proms and the stories behind them.  According to Promtacular:

We’re here to celebrate the sequins.  To embrace the lace.  To high-five the hairspray.  Because let’s face it: proms may be awkward, but they’re also full of awesome.  AWESOME, like teal satin with dyed shoes to match.  Like tulle piled miles high.  Like trying to seem hip and cool while your sexually confused date tries not to touch you inappropriately as your parents keep scrunching you closer together to get yet another photo in the 90-degree heat.  And then there’s the awesome that comes with the downright unfortunate.  UNFORTUNATE, like This will look fine without a bra.  Like a new perm.  Like acne, broken zippers, purple eyeliner, corsages that look like small animals, and the entire ridiculous genre that was the ’80s.  It’s all here: the awesome photos, the unfortunate photos.  Photos that are lots of fun, photos that make no sense (why the dog?), and photos that capture the essence of why teenaged formals are really so unforgettable.

Promtacular is taking submissions so if you have any awesome, bizarre, hilarious, embarrassing, or otherwise noteworthy prom photos, send them in and share them with everyone.

Regretsy – Where DIY Meets WTF

Do you like to browse the interwebs looking for crafts and other handmade goods for sale?  Do you sometimes find really bizarre items or things that are just plain junk?  Regretsy.com is a blog that posts handmade goods that are odd, awful, bizarre, or otherwise fail.  According to Regretsy:

Regretsy is the fail blog of hand crafts.  Almost everything posted here is collected from the web site, Etsy, though I sometimes feature crafting failures from other sites.  I also will sometimes post things that are just incredibly odd and wonderful.  So while not everything here is awful, it is always WTF.  Etsy bills itself as The online market place for all things handmade.  Everything on the site is supposed to be handmade or vintage.  Unfortunately, a lot of people post things that are factory made, not vintage and basically shit you’d find at a yard sale.  There are many, many gifted artists on Etsy who produce incredible work.  Generally speaking, those aren’t the people I feature.

Cats That Look Like Hitler

Do you own a cat, or more accurately, does a cat own you?  Does your cat show certain evil tendencies that make you think they would take over the world, given the chance?  Today’s featured website demonstrates that there really is a website out there for any topic you can imagine.  CatsThatLookLikeHitler.com is a website that posts pictures of “Kitlers” or cats that look like Adolf Hitler.  According to Cats That Look Like Hitler:

Does your cat look like Adolf Hitler?  Do you wake up in a cold sweat every night wondering if he’s going to up and invade Poland?  Does he keep putting his right paw in the air while making a noise that sounds suspiciously like “Sieg Miaow”?  If so, this is the website for you…  Most cats possess that typically feline facial expression that implies a secret longing for world domination.  All cats want to rule the world, that’s part of the nature of the species, but to be a genuine Kitler there has to be some other similarity when compared to that ever popular German/Austrian dictator.  We’re looking for that toothbrush ‘tache, that most unfashionable of facial adornments.  Or the flock-of-seagulls hairdo.  Perhaps an evil glint in its eye, or maybe a Kitler will be Sieg Miaowing their paw all the way to their dinner plate.  Of course, the best Kitlers will have all of the above.

Cats That Look Like Hitler is talking submissions so if you think you have a “Kitler” snap a picture and send it in.  The site also includes discussion forums.
