Have you had enough of all the Valentines day hoopla yet? Are you disgusted by how everything is fake, exaggerated, and overly sweet this time of year? At meish.org/vd you can send virtual Anti-Valentines cards through Facebook and just about every other social networking site on the web for free. According to Meish:
The idea of the site is to provide an alternative card-sending service for all the people who think Valentine’s Day is sickly-sweet, exclusively coupley, consumerist nonsense or otherwise a bit naff… Valentine’s Day is like herpes: just when you think its gone for good, it rears its ugly head once more. No wonder some people prefer to call it VD… This year, celebrate or commiserate by sending an anti-valentine. Stick two fingers (or one, if you’re that way culturally inclined) at any organisation with a vested interest which prescribes how and when to show your feelings. This year, don’t say it with flowers: say it with bile.

NORADSanta.org is website with a Santa tracking service where you can follow Santa’s Journey around the world on Christmas eve. According to NORAD: “For more than 50 years, NORAD and its predecessor, the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) have tracked Santa’s Christmas Eve flight. NORAD uses four high-tech systems to track Santa – radar, satellites, Santa Cams and fighter jets.“ In addition to the regular Santa tracker you can also track Santa in Google Earth. UglyChristmasLights.com is a website that posts pictures of Christmas lights that have gone a bit beyond tasteful into the realm of delightfully tacky. According to Ugly Christmas Lights: “This site is here to show those houses where the residents are likely celebrating a happy holiday, but have no sense of decency. We will show the garish, the ugly, the weird. For your own sake, and the sake of your neighbors, do not try this at home.” If one of your neighbors is testing the boundaries of good taste with their light display you can submit a picture.
